Bottoms Up Diaper Drive

The World's Largest Diaper Drive (a program of Bottoms Up Diaper Bank) is here! Saint John XXIII is partnering with Bottoms Up to help collect 750,000 diapers from April 16 – May 7th.   • Medicaid covers 47% of all births, on average, in the U.S., yet no government program provides diapers as a basic need for babies.
  • 1 in 3 U.S. families struggle to buy diapers for their children.
  • Diapers can cost $70 - $80 per month.
  • The average baby needs 6 - 10 diapers per day.
  • There are 9.6 million single mothers in the US and 2.9 million live in poverty.
  • 60% of homeless families are single women with children.
  • 17.2 million children under 18 are being raised by single mothers.
  • Diaper need is defined as the lack of a sufficient supply of diapers to keep a baby clean, dry, and healthy.
  • 1 in 3 U.S. moms report suffering from diaper need.
  • Diaper need impacts the physical, mental & economic well-being of children & parents.
  • Most Childcare centers require Parents to provide a day’s supply of disposable diapers.
